Interesting. I’ve never been one to say unicorns are all sunshine and rainbows, myself.

Doing these darkly-lit comics can be fun. But time consuming. Even grayscale is time-consuming. Colour would just eat away at every last bit of time I have. Besides, I like the stark contrasts of grayscale comics. My colour comics, in contrast, just don’t have the nice contrast my grayscale ones do.

Okay unhappytiems over now.

First off, don’t argue with me over the spelling of “April Fool’s”. “April Fools’” just looks silly to me. ;-9 I know a lot of people hate this holiday, but considering I started out online in the webcomics community where the day meant comic swaps and such, I never really had a bad perception of it until I discovered LiveJournal pranks. Oh, goody.

Besides it being April Fool’s Day, checkitout! I have a guest comic up on Count Your Sheep, where Lillian is lovingly described as a robotic pigeon! I like to keep track of all the bird species that Lillian has been compared to (although “insect” has popped up, too) for good insult material, and chicken has popped up the most, but I considering I once compared Lillian to a mourning dove, he’s got it just about right!

Also, enjoy a little side doodle of Ship and Lillian. Ship doesn’t seem to be enjoying the fact that he’s being described just as a source of sweaters by a robotic pigeon.

EDIT: My upgrade to WordPress 2.5 seems to have messed up ComicPress’ archive system, which is already being worked on by the good people who bring us Comic Press. I don’t want to downgrade temporarily them upgrade both WordPress THEN ComicPress, so I’m leaving it as is for now. Sorry.

Hey guys, long time no blog announcement!

I’d just like to say “hi” to any new readers we have out there, and to ward of any confusion that I should’ve cleared up long ago: Right now the comic is in “catch-up” mode. I write comics to air on specific dates usually at least a month ahead. Well, maybe this is too ambitious of myself. It didn’t help that I spent a couple weeks out of March knocked out from a case of the ‘flu that still insists on lingering in my system in the form of body aches and coughs. Wooooo, fun.

Secondly, I’d like to warn folks that during the week of March 23-29th service on ASCommentary’s server, Critter.net, may be sporadic due to site repairs. Keep in mind that strips are always posted simultaneously on the LiveJournal community as well if the main site goes down.

Sorry for the lack of updates the past couple weeks, folks. I don’t really have any excuse other than I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by commissions and such, ’cause I do need them to pay for the more fun things in life. (Like food. I like food. I like Jimmy John’s, which is dangerous, because there is one really close to my house.) I’m trying to get comic strips written out to strip #100, which I honestly have no idea what I’m going to do for. XD
